Chief Minister Revanth Reddy’s official trip to the United States, aimed at seeking investments for Telangana, has drawn sharp criticism from BRS leaders, who appear “envious,” stated Transport and BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar. “Why are BRS leaders uncomfortable with initiatives that benefit the people of Telangana?” he asked. He highlighted the fact that the Chief Minister along with the state’s Chief Secretary, Finance Secretary and IT and Industries officials, are negotiating investments for the state. “For 10 years, former Chief Minister KCR did not step out of his farmhouse, while Revanth Reddy is travelling abroad to ensure the state’s welfare,” Prabhakar said. He urged the people of Telangana to take note of these criticisms aimed at undermining the Chief Minister’s efforts. “The BRS government never considered attracting investments,” he added and accused BRS leaders of levelling baseless allegations to cover up their failures. Addressing the Sunkisala incident, he said, “A comprehensive inquiry has been ordered by the Chief Minister, and those responsible will be held accountable. No one will be spared, and action will be taken based on the investigation’s findings.” Prabhakar also criticized the BRS for its hasty decisions regarding the Kaleshwaram Project, claiming that the decisions harmed Telangana’s farmers. “Farmers in the state have not seen the benefits they enjoyed during the united Andhra Pradesh era in the last 10 years,” he said. Prabhakar accused the BRS of dodging accountability in the Assembly, pointing out their inability to respond adequately to questions.
