On the occasion of Independence Day, Minister for Women and Child Welfare and Tribal Welfare Gummidi Sandhya Rani emphasised the government’s commitment to education and healthcare in Parvathipuram Manyam district. Speaking at a grand celebration held at the Government Junior College Grounds, Minister Sandhya Rani also highlighted the government’s commitment to the development of both the State and the district. She announced the forthcoming Vision Andhra -2047 document, aimed at propelling Andhra Pradesh into a new era of growth and prosperity. “The government is meticulously planning a 100-day and one-year development strategy for the district, ensuring systematic and sustainable progress,” she stated.
Sandhya Rani emphasised the significance of the Public Grievance Redressal System (PGRS), a new initiative designed to address public grievances efficiently. She also mentioned the Pedala Sevalo programme, conducted on the first of every month, which provides direct support to the underprivileged as per the Chief Minister’s directives. “The government is also set to launch Revenue Sadassulu in the coming days to resolve land issues that have long plagued the citizens,” she added.
Highlighting the government’s commitment to social welfare, the Minister spoke about the enhanced NTR Bharosa pensions. “We are distributing Rs. 2,737 crore to 64.82 lakh beneficiaries across the State, with Rs. 59.58 crore allocated to 1.43 lakh recipients in our district alone,” she said. Sandhya Rani also praised the launch of Anna Canteens, which provide affordable meals to the poor, describing it as “a great gesture of love towards the less fortunate.”
Turning her focus to agriculture, the Minister urged farmers to explore commercial crops and adopt modern agricultural practices. “Our district, being primarily agricultural, must embrace viable crops that yield more with less investment. The government’s ‘e-Panta’ scheme is a step towards this, offering support to farmers,” she said. She also highlighted opportunities for oil palm cultivation in the district, noting that tribal farmers will receive encouragement and support through NREGA.
In the realm of education, Minister Sandhya Rani called for a renewed focus on developing human resources, underscoring the importance of creativity and excellence in students. “Our district’s ‘My School My Pride’ programme, which appoints district officers as Special Officers to high schools, has played a pivotal role in our students’ success in SSC exams for two consecutive years,” she said.
The Minister also spoke about the ‘Maa Badi Maa Thota’ initiative, promoting nutritious food among students, and the identification of talented athletes for specialised training.
Addressing public health concerns, the Minister stressed combating anaemia among pregnant women and announced plans to establish blood banks and nutrition centres. She also called for industrialisation and skill development programmes by establishment of Grama/Ward Vignana Kendras to generate employment for the youth, urging them to avoid drugs and become role models for society.
