Minister for Tribal Welfare and Women and Child Welfare Gummidi Sandhya Rani, has announced that the government will provide full support to the families of the teachers who lost their lives while attempting to cross the Raimanu stream in Pachipenta mandal. The incident claimed the life of Aarti, a teacher from Haryana who was serving as a warden at Eklavya Model Residential School, Kotikapenta.
Minister Sandhya Rani expressed deep sorrow over the incident, noting the unfortunate circumstances that led to the tragedy. “Despite the warnings from locals not to cross the stream, the teachers were unable to understand the danger due to language barriers. This is a heartbreaking loss, and we stand with the families during this difficult time,” she said. In the immediate aftermath of the incident, local authorities were swift in their response. “As soon as we were alerted, the local tehsildar and police reached the site and commenced search operations,” the Minister added.
Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu has personally reached out to the families of the victims, ensuring them of the government’s support. “The Chief Minister has instructed that one member from each family will be provided with employment as a means of support during this time of grief,” Minister Sandhya Rani stated. She also confirmed that arrangements are being made to transport the bodies of the deceased teachers back to their home state. “In line with the Chief Minister’s orders, we are ensuring that the bodies are returned with the utmost dignity. District Collector A. Shyam Prasad has taken all necessary steps to facilitate this process,” she assured. The Minister reiterated the government’s commitment to standing by the families and ensuring they receive the necessary support. “Our hearts go out to the bereaved families, and we will do everything in our power to help them through this tragedy,” she affirmed.
