She stated that these preparations must be completed before the upcoming Dasara Sarannavaratri festivities. She also emphasised that the State government plans to develop Pavitra Sangamam into a significant spiritual and tourism destination.
On Saturday, Collector Srijana, along with other officials, visited Pavitra Sangamam at the Ferry in Ibrahimpatnam mandal to inspect the ongoing arrangements for reinstating the Navaharatulu at the site. She provided the necessary instructions to ensure the timely completion of the preparations. Following the inspection, Dr Srijana held a review meeting at the Collectorate in Vijayawada with officials from various departments, including Endowments, R&B, Revenue, Irrigation, Tourism, Police, CRDA, APTRANSCO, and others. During these meetings, Dr Srijana highlighted the state government’s intention to reinstate the Nava Haratulu before the start of the Dasara festivities and urged all departments to collaborate to meet the deadlines. She noted Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu’s keen interest in developing Pavitra Sangamam into a spiritual and tourism centre.
Dr Srijana also stressed the need to quickly develop the 1.7 km road from Ibrahimpatnam to Pavitra Sangamam and suggested that future requirements, including strengthening canal bunds on both sides, be considered. She emphasised the importance of prioritising sanitation and the safety of devotees.
She further informed the officials that a large number of devotees are expected to visit Pavitra Sangamam, not only from the district but also from neighbouring areas, including Telangana. To accommodate this influx, the site should be adorned with electrical lighting, she said. Additionally, a sound system should be arranged for devotional songs during the Nava Haratulu period. She also directed the police department to ensure the necessary security arrangements.
Dr Srijana reiterated that the district administration should make all required arrangements at Pavitra Sangamam, and she emphasised the importance of setting up temporary health camps by the health department.
