Visakhapatnam MP M Sribharat attended the 35th Regional Youth Parliament Competition held at Malkapuram Central College on Friday. The event, which brought together students from eight schools, provided a platform for young minds to discuss pressing issues, propose innovative solutions, and delve into the intricacies of parliamentary procedures.
Sribharat, impressed by the enthusiasm and dedication of the participants, praised the students for their active involvement. “It’s heartening to see such energy and commitment from our youth. Their eagerness to understand and engage with the democratic process is truly commendable.”
Drawing from his own experiences, the MP offered the students a glimpse into the life of a Member of Parliament. “A typical day in Parliament involves rigorous discussions, debates, and decision-making. Understanding these processes is crucial for anyone aspiring to be a part of our democratic system,” he explained, adding that he was deeply moved by the insightful topics raised by the students during the event.
Highlighting the importance of such initiatives, Sribharat stated, “Programmes like these are essential in fostering a deeper understanding of democracy among the youth. They not only educate but also inspire the next generation to become thoughtful and effective leaders.”
He emphasised the pivotal role of the youth in shaping the future of the nation. “The youth are the torchbearers of change. It’s vital for them to recognise their responsibilities as citizens and actively participate in democratic processes. Their involvement is key to building a more inclusive and progressive society,” he said.
Sribharat underscored the need to nurture leadership qualities among young people. “It’s imperative that we provide platforms like this to enhance the leadership skills of our youth and broaden their understanding of the democratic system. This will equip them to take on meaningful roles in the future,” he affirmed.
