The YSR Congress Party led by YS Jagan Mohan Reddy is likely to suffer a big jolt as senior party leader and MP (Rajya Sabha) Mopidevi Venkata Ramana is likely to quit the party on Thursday, according to reports. Sources say that Mopidevi will join the ruling Telugu Desam Party.
MP Mopidevi Venkata Ramana is the YSRCP president of Bapatla district. He was a senior Congress leader during YS Rajasekhar Reddy’s regime and served as the Minister for Infrastructure Development. After the death of Dr YSR, he stood by Jagan Mohan Reddy and later joined YSRCP. It is not immediately clear what has prompted Mopidevi to consider resigning from the party and joining TDP.
