Encouraging industries to collaborate and combine vedic science with modern science to ensure visibility, viability, and national impact, Dr G. Satheesh Reddy, former Scientific Advisor to the Defence Ministry, Government of India, and former DRDO Chairman, attended the inauguration of a two-day International Conference on Uniting Vedic Knowledge with Modern Technologies by ICON Bharat as the chief guest at T-Hub on Saturday
Addressing the delegates of ICON Bharat, Dr Satheesh Reddy congratulated Dr AB Sudhakar Sastry for his 25-year journey in Vedic Science. He appreciated the conference for showcasing the synergy between ancient sciences and modern technologies, noting the growing interest and confidence in Vedic Science. Reddy emphasised that bridging the gap between Vedic Science and modern science is challenging, but it’s essential due to the proven impact of ancient methods.
He highlighted the importance of self-reliance in materials and advanced technologies for India’s growth. Reddy mentioned that while India is still striving to be self-sufficient in materials, notable progress has been made, like building country’s first aircraft carrier, INS Vikrant using 80 per cent indigenous materials. He also pointed out Hyderabad’s role and contribution in developing critical indigenous materials.
Reddy acknowledged that India still faces challenges due to less resources and inefficient processes, making it difficult to compete globally. However, he noted that Vedic knowledge has proven valuable in areas like materials and cryptography. Reddy appreciated the research at SRIVT, which has outperformed existing methods and led to successful projects for DRDO. He urged industries to collaborate and adopt Vedic Science to ensure its visibility, viability, and acceptance across the country.
Meanwhile, Vice Chancellor of BITS, Group of Institutions & Fr. Director, IIT Delhi, Professor V Ramgopal Rao said that Dr. A.B. Sudhakar Sastry was introduced at IIT Bombay, where he explained his work on Vedic science. Rao admitted he was not familiar with Vedic sciences until he encountered Dr. Sastry’s research. As a scientist, Rao emphasized the importance of verifying information through personal research. He was impressed by Dr Sastry’s use of ancient methods to produce nano materials, which are usually made with modern techniques. Rao believes more people like Dr. Sastry are needed to bridge ancient and modern science, and he encouraged collaboration to further this work.
Rao suggested that Dr Sastry, through SRIBT, should connect with more people and collaborate with BITS Pilani to create and offer courses and degrees in Vedic science, benefiting society.
The conference is held in collaboration with leading scientific institutions like BrahMos, DRDO, DSIR, UOH, BITS, Atal Incubation Centre, and T-Hub.
