Tankers to supply water in flooded areas GHMC to hold health camps to prevent vector-borne diseases 

Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Commissioner Amrapali Kata ordered the officials to set up health camps wherever necessary to prevent the spread of diseases and to make them available to the people at all times. The Commissioner visited several areas in the Kukatpally zone and inspected the flood-affected areas on Tuesday.
The officials concerned were instructed to complete the arrangements for Ganesh immersion at IDL and Maisamma ponds. She spoke with the people of Safdar Nagar. The Zonal Commissioner was ordered to take steps to ensure that the canal works are not affected by flooding.
Meanwhile, health officials checked the bastis in the Kukatpally zone, where doctors said that 90 outpatients suffering from cold, viral fever, cough and body aches were being treated for the last three days.
Meanwhile, Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) Managing Director Ashok Reddy ordered the officials that water should be supplied through water tankers in the flooded areas of the city. He visited Sai Nagar, Youth Colony, Masjid Band and other areas of Hafeezpet on Tuesday.
He ordered the officials to take precautionary measures in drinking water supply. Samples number should be increased and water supplied only after testing. So far, the Water Board distributed 8.80 lakh chlorine pills in rain-affected areas, slums and low-lying areas.
The officials were directed to take precautions in supplying drinking water. Chlorine should also be kept ready in adequate quantities. MD Ashok Reddy has formed a special committee with high-level officials to monitor water-logging points, overflow, polluted water and other issues in the city.
He said that preventive measures should be taken to avoid sewage overflow on the roads. If the manholes swell up, the silt should be removed immediately. He requested the people to call 155313 for any issues.
