1.6 lakh food packets sent to flood-hit areas from Eluru dist

The government machinery of Eluru district sent 1.60 lakh food packets to the flood-affected areas in Vijayawada on Tuesday. Collector Vetri Selvi inspected the quality of food packets in the Fathebad catering centre on Tuesday.  
Talking to the media, the Collector said that the district administration has made arrangements to send another 1.60 lakh food packets to the NTR district on Tuesday. Collector Vetri Selvi said that 1.25 food packets, 1 lakh milk packets, 1 lakh biscuit packets, 30,000 bread packets and 50,000 candles and matchboxes were sent from the district on Monday. On Tuesday morning, breakfast packets were sent in special vehicles.
The Collector said that preparation and packing work was started at 4 am to provide breakfast packets to the victims on time, adding that the timely delivery of breakfast packets to Vijayawada was beneficial to the victims and the victims expressed their happiness.
Similarly, lunch packets required for noon and evening will also be prepared and sent to Vijayawada, the Collector said. Apart from these, food packets will also be sent from Nuzvid, Agiripalli and Jangareddygudem.
Joint Collector P Dhatri Reddy RDO NSK Khajavali and DRDA PD Vijayaraju were among those who accompanied the Collector.
