Energy Dept employees present over Rs 10 crore to CMRF

Under the leadership of Energy Minister Gottipati Ravi Kumar and Special Chief Secretary for Energy, K Vijayanand, employees of the Andhra Pradesh Energy Department generously contributed one day’s salary, amounting to Rs 10,61,81,614, to the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund (CMRF). The donation was officially handed over to Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday.
On the occasion, Minister Ravi Kumar expressed deep gratitude and pride in the department’s workforce. He stated, “I am immensely proud that our electricity staff have stepped up to support the flood victims during this critical time. Their contribution of Rs 10,61,81,614 is a testament to their commitment to the community.” The Minister also praised the Chief Minister’s relentless efforts over the past ten days in Vijayawada, highlighting how his proactive measures have been instrumental in saving lives and protecting property.
Special Chief Secretary Vijayanand emphasized the department’s enduring commitment to serving the people, particularly in times of emergency. “Our department not only illuminates lives but also stands ready to support those in distress. Even in dire situations, our workers are known for their selfless dedication. It is heartening to see them come forward to assist the flood victims,” he said.
AP Genco MD KVN Chakradhar Babu, AP Transco JMD Keerthy Chekuri, CPDCL CMD Pattan Shetty Ravi Subhash, and representatives from the Association of Electrical Engineers and the Electricity Employees JAC were present.
