Officials told to ensure peaceful Immersion of Ganesh idols

District Collector Muzammil Khan has said that Ganesh  idols immersion would take place in the district on September 16 and also on September 17. Therefore, he directed the officials to take steps to ensure that there are no hiccups during the programme. He asked them to ensure that the immersion of the idols take place in a peaceful atmosphere.
He gave these instructions, while holding a meeting along with Khammam Police Commissioner Sunil Dutt, Additional Collectors P Srija and D Madhusudhan Naik and others at the Collectorate here on Friday.
The officials should make foolproof arrangements for the peaceful immersion  of idols in Wyra, Sattupalli and Madhira too by taking into confidence the Ganesh Utsav Committee leaders.
The officials should visit the immersion points and check whether necessary arrangements have been made there or not. The necessary route map for the procession should be kept ready beforehand. Repairs to the processional route should be taken, if necessary, he said.
There should be no hanging overhead electric wires and there should be no power cuts during the immersion period, he said asking the officials to deploy cranes at the immersion points and also the expert swimmers.
He directed the officials concerned to erect barricades on the roads, running of medical camps, keeping ready the first-aid kits. The fire brigade personnel should remain on alert during the immersion period and should be  deployed  near the immersion points.
City Police Commissioner Sunil Dutt said that security has been beefed up for the immersion. On September 16, 1,000 idols will be immersed and another 800 to 900 idols on September 17. Appropriate number of cranes should be deployed, besides creating a platform.
Expert swimmers and boats should be kept ready near the places of immersion, he said.   He also suggested keeping ready the services of vehicle mechanics at vantage places all along the route of the procession.

District Forest Officer Siddharth Vikram Singh, trainee collector Mrunal Shreshta, revenue officer M Rajeshwari, district officials,  RDOs, municipal commissioners and others took part in the meeting.
