Union Minister Ram Mohan inaugurates Vizag-Durg Vande Bharat Express

Union Minister for Civil Aviation   Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu inaugurated the Visakhapatnam-Durg (Raipur) Vande Bharat Express on Monday at Visakhapatnam Railway Station. The much-awaited train service will begin regular operations on September 20, enhancing connectivity between Visakhapatnam and Raipur.
Speaking at the event, Rammohan Naidu stated, “This is the fourth Vande Bharat train to pass through Visakhapatnam, marking another significant step in the rapid development of the country’s railways.”
The minister highlighted the success of the Vande Bharat trains already operating in the region, including the Visakhapatnam- Secunderabad Vande Bharat, which runs at full capacity. “With three Vande Bharat trains already serving Visakhapatnam, the new Visakhapatnam-Raipur Vande Bharat will further strengthen the link between the three states. It is also the first Vande Bharat Express to operate entirely through tribal areas, with a stop at Parvathipuram,” he explained.
Rammohan Naidu further elaborated on the train’s strategic importance, noting that it will make stops in three state capitals across India. He praised the Indian Railways’ efforts to modernize, stating, “The Indian Railways, with its 1.4 million employees, is continuously upgrading its services to provide a better travel experience.”
The minister also announced plans for Visakhapatnam’s railway infrastructure. “Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, we will soon conduct the Bhoomi Puja for the new railway zone in Visakhapatnam,” he revealed, hinting at further developmental projects in the region.
The introduction of the Visakha-Raipur Vande Bharat Express is expected to significantly boost regional connectivity and provide greater convenience for passengers traveling between Visakhapatnam and Raipur.
Visakhapatnam MP M Sribharat, Rajya Sabha Member Golla Babu Rao, TDP State President Palla Srinivasa Rao, TDP Visakhapatnam District President Gandi Babji, Mayor Golagani Hari Venkata Kumari, District Collector M.N. Harendhira Prasad, and Divisional Railway Manager Saurabh Prasad were also among the dignitaries who waved the flag and officially launched the train from platform
