NTR CP, Durga temple EO inspect steps for Dasara15 lakh devotees expected to turn up for the festival

In view of the upcoming Dasara Sarannavaratri festivities at the Sri Durga Malleswara Swamy Varla Devasthanam, Indrakeeladri, scheduled to be held from October 3 to 12, NTR District Police Commissioner SV Rajasekhar Babu and Temple Executive Officer (EO) KS Rama Rao inspected infrastructure facilities besides security arrangements on Monday. The authorities expect that around 15 lakh devotees will be visiting the temple during the nine-day festivities.
The temple authorities have already begun queue line arrangements from the Vinayaka Temple to Durga temple hilltop. Besides, works on bathing ghats, ticket counters, tonsuring centres, holding areas, Annadanam and other facilities are progressing at a brisk pace. Earlier, they held a meeting with Minister for Endowment Anam Ramanarayana Reddy.
During the recent floods, a landslide hit the Ghat Road blocking vehicular traffic from the downtrend of the temple to uphill. The temple authorities immediately started removing the debris. Also, they are constructing a retaining wall to prevent further landslides.
Police Commissioner Ramakrishna, EO Rama Rao and other officials inspected the construction of the retaining wall. Also, the Commissioner spoke to the temple officials regarding various arrangements for the festivities. They discussed traffic diversion, parking and other important matters.
Durga Temple Executive Engineers KVS Koteswara Rao and L Rama Devi, ADCP G Ramakrishna and other officials were present.
