CM announces flood relief

Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has announced a substantial relief package for families affected by the recent floods, following the catastrophic conditions faced during the 100 days of coalition governance. Speaking at a press conference at the Secretariat on Tuesday, the Chief Minister outlined the financial assistance measures for those impacted by the floods.
To offer some relief to those who lost their homes, the Chief Minister stated that new houses would be built for people whose residences were destroyed by the heavy rains and floods. Each household affected by the floods will receive Rs 25,000. Additionally, Rs 10,000 will be allocated to residents of houses that were inundated and to those living on the first floor. Small traders who have suffered due to the floods will receive Rs 25,000 in aid.
Financial support has also been announced for motor vehicles: Rs 3,000 for two-wheelers and Rs 10,000 for three-wheelers (autos). Fishermen whose boats and nets have been partially damaged will receive Rs 9,000, while those with complete damage will get Rs 20,000. Seri-culture farmers will be granted Rs 6,000, and compensation of Rs 50,000 will be provided for large cattle.  
Paddy farmers will receive Rs 10,000 per acre, while sugarcane farmers will get Rs 25,000 per acre.
The Chief Minister further announced financial aid for MSME sectors affected by the floods. Handloom workers who incurred losses will receive Rs 15,000. MSMEs with a turnover between Rs 40 lakh and Rs 1.5 crore will be given Rs 1 lakh, while those with a turnover exceeding Rs 1.5 crore will receive Rs 1.5 lakh.
For the poultry sector, assistance amounts to Rs 100 per chicken, and Rs 5,000 if the poultry shed is destroyed. Financial aid for cattle includes Rs 50,000 per buffalo, Rs 40,000 per bull, Rs 25,000 per calf, and Rs 7,500 per sheep.
The Chief Minister also announced that those whose carts were destroyed will be provided with new ones. Financial assistance will be given as follows: Rs 25,000 per hectare for cotton, Rs 15,000 for groundnuts, Rs 15,000 for the desalination and restoration of fishing farms per hectare, and Rs 35,000 for turmeric and banana horticulture plantations. Additionally, Rs 15,000 per hectare will be provided for Ragi, maize, sorghum, foxtail millets, and other millet varieties.
Regarding vehicle insurance claims for 179 Sachivalayams, the Chief Minister reported a total of 9,088 claims amounting to Rs 71.54 crore, with 2,345 claims settled for Rs 6.1 crore. The outstanding 6,748 claims, totalling Rs 65.29 crore, remain pending.
