Kanti Rana moves High Court  for anticipatory bail

Must read

Senior IPS officer Kanti Rana Tata, who was suspended in connection with a case involving Mumbai actress Kadambari Jethwani, has filed a petition in the Andhra Pradesh High Court seeking anticipatory bail. The High Court has scheduled the hearing for Monday.
Alongside Rana, fellow senior IPS officers PSR Anjaneyu and Vishal Gunni are also accused in this illegal case, which pertains to the arrest and harassment of Jethwani and her family members. Police officials are currently consulting legal experts on the matter, and a decision is expected within a day or two after receiving their advice.
On September 13, Jethwani complained to Ibrahimpatnam police station, alleging that YSRCP leader Kukkala Vidyasagar, along with IPS officers Anjaneyu, Rana, and Gunni, acted unlawfully in her arrest based on forged documents. The police have registered a case under various sections, including threats to kill, illegal entry by breaking into her home, forgery, and the creation of false documents.
Kukkala Vidyasagar was arrested by police in Dehradun on Friday in connection with this false case against the Mumbai-based actress. The arrest followed Jethwani’s complaint, in which she claimed that Vidyasagar had wrongfully implicated her using forged documents, leading to her unjust arrest and harassment, which ultimately forced her to withdraw a sexual assault complaint she had previously filed against an individual in Mumbai.
