Mahila Congress launches membership drive

In connection with the Mahila Congress formation day on September 15, membership drive was launched by Mahila Congress chairperson Sunita Rao, District Mahila Congress chairperson Thota Devi Prasanna. They appealed to various committees of Mahila Congress to fulfil the membership targets.
She said that the Congress is the only party which promotes women’s empowerment and provides higher positions to women in politics, she said.
Speaking at a Mahila Congress programme in various wards of the town on Saturday, she said that late Indira Gandhi formed Mahila Congress 40 years ago. The Mahila Congress also continues to wage a struggle on behalf of people and work for the empowerment of women.
The Mahila Congress membership drive has been take up in all 33 districts, she said, exhorting women of all sections of society to become members of Mahila Congress and make the membership drive a grand success. She appealed to the district committee, block committee, mandal committee, town committee and village committees to fulfil the membership targets given to them.
