CM: Provide double-bedroom houses to eligible poor

The Chief Minister has directed officials to collect details of all the eligible poor living in the Musi catchment area and along encroached lakes and canals in Hyderabad.
During a review meeting with HYDRAA officials on Tuesday officials were told that they should attempt to provide security to the deserving poor. Deserving families should not be dumped on the streets. They must be allotted a double-bedroom house or shown some other alternative if their houses are demolished. The Chief Minister asked officials to take responsibility for the conservation of lakes and canals inside the Outer Ring Road. He reminded them of the need to protect them keeping in mind the necessity to prevent natural calamities from occurring.
He ordered that the monitoring should be made strict so that lakes and canals are not encroached upon. CCTV cameras should be installed near all water bodies in the city and connected to the command control centre, the CM said.
He said that all water bodies inside the Outer Ring Road should be identified and their FTL and buffer zones marked. The officials were ordered to collect details of the encroachment of water bodies within the Outer Ring Road in Hyderabad city and to prepare a full-fledged report on them. At the same time, he cautioned that the government should take steps to prevent losses to the deserving poor.
Chief Minister Revanth Reddy held a review meeting with officials on Musi River Front Development and Hyderabad Metro Rail.
The Chief Minister ordered the preparation of a full-scale report regarding the metro line from the airport to Future City. He said that expansion of the Old City Metro should be taken up fast. If there are land acquisition and other obstacles for metro lines, the authorities should pay attention and solve them.
Officials briefed the CM on various aspects connected to metro expansion from LB Nagar to Hayath Nagar and MGBS to Chandrayanagutta.
The CM said that a complete DPR regarding the expansion of the Metro route should be prepared and submitted to the Centre before the Dussehra festival.
