PCCM inspects Kakinada Town station, Goods Shed

K Padmaja, Principal Chief Commercial Manager (PCCM), South Central Railway, inspected the Kakinada Town railway station and the Kakinada New Goods Shed Complex on Wednesday. Rambabu Vavilapalli, Senior Divisional Commercial Manager, Vijayawada, and the Commercial team accompanied the PCCM throughout the inspection.
At the railway station, Padmaja examined passenger amenities, Booking Office and Parcel Office. She spoke to the Parcel Office staff and hamaals regarding due care and safety precautions like emptying of fuel tanks to be taken while loading of vehicles, and instructed them to strictly adhere to safety protocols.
The PCCM interacted with various freight customers and officials based at Kakinada, such Kakinada Sea Port Limited, Coromandel Fertilisers, Nagarjuna Fertilisers etc., on the safety aspects to be followed during the loading of rakes. She emphasised on the loading system to be followed as approved by RDSO, so as to ensure even loading and to ensure safety. The customers, supervisors, loading staff and labourers were sensitised regarding the safety aspects.
Later, Padmaja inspected Coromandel Fertiliser Company.  She also inspected loading procedures and interacted with the field staff, loading supervisors, in-charges, and labourers and advised them to ensure the approved pattern of loading with strict adherence to the permissible carrying capacity of wagons.
