The District Legal Services Authorities (DLSA) of both Nalgonda and Yadadri-Bhuvanagiri districts, under the directions of the National Legal Services Authority and the State Legal Services Authority, successfully conducted the National Lok Adalat in all court complexes across their respective districts on Sunday.
In Nalgonda, the Lok Adalat was presided over by the District Judge and Chairperson of DLSA, M Nagaraju, who resolved a significant number of cases. A total of 16,830 cases (including pending and pre-litigation cases) were settled. These cases included civil disputes (71), criminal cases (4,530), motor vehicle accident insurance claims (120), bank disputes (24), cybercrime cases (38), Transco cases (318), and traffic challan violations. Notably, compensation amounting of Rs 7.95 crore was awarded in motor accident claims, Rs 20.26 lakh in bank loan disputes and Rs 3.35 lakh was recovered in cybercrime cases.
The event witnessed the participation of Secretary of DLSA, B Deepthi, various judicial officers and members of the Bar Association, including its president and vice-president, alongside legal professionals and litigants.
Similarly, in Yadadri-Bhuvanagiri, the National Lok Adalat, inaugurated by District Principal Judge and Chairperson of DLSA, A Jayaraju, also saw the resolution of numerous cases.
A total of 11,066 cases were settled across the district, including criminal cases (3,459), civil disputes (17), pre-litigation bank cases (73), and traffic challans (7,517). While addressing the gathering, Jayaraju highlighted the role of the Legal Services Authorities in ensuring access to justice, promoting amicable settlements and fostering a cooperative environment in society.
Participating dignitaries in Yadadri-Bhuvanagiri included Senior Civil Judge and Secretary of DLSA, V Madhavilatha, Principal Junior Civil Judge, D Nageshwar Rao, along with representatives from the Bar Association, police department and other stakeholders. The event emphasised the importance of settlement as a preferred method of resolving disputes, contributing to social and economic stability.
Both districts demonstrated the successful role of Lok Adalat in reducing the pendency of cases and providing quick, cost-effective justice.
