BRS Working President KT Rama Rao has sharply criticised Chief Minister Revanth Reddy and accused him of creating chaos in Hyderabad during Dussehra and the Bathukamma festival.
KTR was interacting with the victims of the Musi River floods in Tulasi Nagar in Amberpet. He said the poor are living with the constant fear of their homes getting demolished. He said that Revanth Reddy is wreaking vengeance on Hyderabad’s residents as they did not vote for the Congress.
KTR reminded Revanth of his pre-election promises and asked whether any of the six guarantees had been implemented.
KTR blasted the Congress claim that it would spend Rs 1.5 lakh crore to clean 55 km of the Musi River. Expressing disbelief at the figure he asked whether the aim is to loot public funds.
He urged people to unite and resist if bulldozers came to demolish their homes. He lashed out at the hypocrisy of Congress, who under the ‘Indiramma Rajyam’ banner promised to build houses, but is now demolishing them.
Citing the ‘Namami Gange’ project he said that Rs 20,000 crore was spent to clean 2,400 km of the Ganga while Revanth wants to spend ?1.5 lakh crore on just 55 km of the Musi River.
KTR cited Sudheer Reddy’s caution that the Musi Project would harm the poor, which led KCR to halt the project.
KTR demanded to know how the cost of the Musi Project had increased 10-fold from the BRS government’s estimate of Rs 16,000 crore. He said that those affected should receive three times the compensation, jobs and financial aid.
KTR said that ‘Musi mein looto, Delhi mein baanto’ has become the Congress’s new slogan. He also advised residents to replace the ‘RBX’ marks on their houses with ‘KCR’ and see who would dare to demolish their homes.
