The Congress party has failed to fulfill the promises made to people ahead of elections, said Narsapur BRS MLA V Sunitha Laxma Reddy at a press conference on Sunday.
Sunitha Laxma Reddy said that although the State government promised to provide saris or Rs 500 to women for the Bathukamma festival, no action had been taken so far.
She claimed that the BRS government has made arrangements to honour women and conduct the Bathukamma celebrations grandly. The Congress government did nothing for women. She pointed out that the Congress government had failed to ensure that the farm loan waiver benefit reached all eligible farmers and thus pushed the farmers into increased debt. She said that in the Narsapur constituency, Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubarak cheques for 400 beneficiaries have been pending for eight months
She demanded that the government immediately release funds for input subsidy under the Rythu Bharosa scheme and implement the six guarantees with integrity. She also noted that the state government also failed to provide  pensions for the elderly, widows, and disabled individuals for two months.
The MLA called for the establishment of procurement centres to purchase paddy in the state, ensuring that all necessary facilities are provided to farmers.
She said that in the Narsapur constituency, Kalyana Lakshmi and Shaadi Mubarak cheques for 400 beneficiaries have been pending for eight months. She warned that if the cheques are not distributed within two days considering the upcoming Dasara festival, beneficiaries would stage a protest in the town.
Municipal Vice-Chairman Nayimuddin, former District Cooperative Member Mansoor, and BRS leaders Satya Goud, Yada Goud, Sheikh Hussain, Mohammed, Suraram Narsinlu, and Ringula Prasad were among others present.
