State govt aims to develop rural sports: Collector

The government’s objective is to promote sports in rural areas, said Kumram Bheem Asifabad District Collector Venkatesh Dothre.
In connection with the upcoming Chief Minister’s Cup to be held in November, the Olympic Flame Rally reached the district headquarters under the leadership of Gachibowli Sports Officer Alexander and Rally Nodal Officer Kanna Madhubabu. District Sports Officer Ramadevi, along with District Superintendent of Police DV Srinivasa Rao, Additional Collector Dasari Venu, and District Tribal Sports Officer Meena Reddy, participated in the Sports Flame Rally.
During this event, he mentioned that the rally would continue across the State until the October 17. The Chief Minister’s Cup aims to develop sports in rural areas and encourage rural athletes.
He emphasised that these sports activities strive to enhance team spirit among athletes.
He also assured that measures are being taken for the development of sports.
The programme saw participation from Congress party district president Kokkirala Vishwaprasad Rao, former ZPTC Santosh, former MPPs Balesh Goud and Mallikarjun, and Congress leaders.
