Bathukamma festival, which has a history spanning centuries, symbolises Telangana’s culture and was celebrated with grandeur on Friday. The festival was celebrated in every colony.
At the venues for the Saddula Bathukamma festival, women’s games and songs drew great attention. Women beautifully adorned Bathukammas with various flowers. In some areas, creatively designed Bathukammas received awards from the local residents. This annual festival saw enthusiastic participation of girls.
The Saddula Bathukamma festival was grandly celebrated in various locations within the Peddapalli district, including Godavarikhani, Ramagundam, Peddapalli, Manthani, Sultanabad, Dharmaram, Kalva Shrirampur, NTPC, FCI, Basant Nagar, Julapalli, Eligaidu, Ramagiri, Kammanpur, Muttaram, Antargam, and Palakurthy.
Starting from 6 pm on Thursday, the celebrations continued with enthusiasm until midnight. District Collector Koya Sree Harsha monitored the festivities, and special arrangements were made by Ramagundam Police Commissioner M Srinivas to ensure women faced no difficulties at Bathukamma venues. The police conducted continuous patrolling in specialised vehicles.
Public representatives and officials participated in the celebrations at various Bathukamma venues across the district, extending their best wishes to the Telangana girls for the Saddula Bathukamma festival.
