Home Minister inaugurates Apollo Chest Pain Clinic

In a major step towards addressing the growing concern of heart disease among the youth, Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha inaugurated the ‘Apollo Chest Pain Clinic’ at Health City in Visakhapatnam on Monday. The Minister underscored the alarming rise in heart attacks, particularly among younger populations, on the occasion. “In recent times, we have seen an unfortunate increase in heart attacks among our youth,” she said. “It is crucial that individuals with any heart-related symptoms seek specialist care immediately. This clinic is a vital addition to the city and will undoubtedly help in reducing cardiac fatalities.”
The Apollo Chest Pain Clinic, established under the aegis of Apollo Hospitals, aims to provide timely and specialised care for cardiac issues. The clinic is poised to play a pivotal role in providing early diagnosis and intervention.
Minister Anitha also emphasised the importance of expanding healthcare access to underserved areas. “Apollo should extend its services to rural regions where healthcare infrastructure is limited,” she stated. “Awareness about health is just as important as access to treatment, and it is our responsibility to ensure both.” She also requested Apollo Hospitals to collaborate with the Police Department to conduct health screenings for the force. Responding to this, Apollo’s management expressed their readiness to support such initiatives.
