Maharshi Valmiki’s birth anniversary celebrations were held on a grand note at the RTC House in Vijayawada on Thursday. APSRTC Executive Director (Engineering) T Changal Reddy, Chief Manager (Personal) Swaroopananda Reddy, Deputy CPM (HRD) Samrajyam, Vigilance AD Shobha Manjari, Deputy Chief Traffic Manager (PNBS) N Srinivasa Rao and several RTC officials, besides the various union leaders, participated in the programme and paid floral tributes to Maharshi Valmiki.
Speaking on the occasion, ED (Engineering) Changal Reddy said that the current generation should know the greatness of Maharshi Valmiki. APSRTC officials and staff work for the development of the corporation and they should follow the message of ‘Marpu’, he added.
Meanwhile, NTR district in-charge Collector Dr Nidhi Meena paid rich tributes to Maharshi Valmiki at a programme organised by the BC Welfare Department at the Pingali Venkaiah Meeting Hall on Thursday. DRO V Srinivasa Ro, BC Welfare Officer K Srinivasa Rao, Civil Supplies District Manager G Venkates warlu, DM & HO Dr M Suhasini, DSDO SA Azeez and others were present.
Also, the Vijayawada Municipal Corporation organised birth anniversary celebrations at the Command Control Room on its premises.
Mayor Rayana Bhagyalakshmi, Commissioner HM Dhyana chandra and others attended the programme and paid tributes to Maharshi.
