Home Minister Vangalapudi Anitha attended the Palle Panduga Program at Pettugolapalli in S Rayavaram mandal, Anakapalli district, where she laid the foundation stone for a new road. Addressing the media people on the occasion, Minister Anitha emphasized the importance of village festivals, saying, “These celebrations reflect the spirit of unity and joy across the state. They are being observed with great enthusiasm, fostering a sense of community”.
Anitha highlighted the NDA government’s development strides, contrasting them with the previous administration’s lack of progress. “In the last five years, villagers faced numerous challenges due to little to no development,” she remarked. “However, within just 100 days of the NDA government, we have initiated key development works, accelerating the construction of new roads and drainage systems”.
The Home Minister specifically mentioned the Addurordu-Kotauratla road, which was neglected by the previous government. “The road was in a deplorable state, having been ignored for years. We are committed to completing new roads across the state by Sankranti,” she assured. Anitha also pointed out the previous government’s suspension of NREGS projects, leaving even YSRCP sarpanches waiting for the NDA’s leadership to resume developmental initiatives
Anitha brought attention to the plight of Dalits over the past five years, citing the deaths of Dr. Sudhakar and Varaprasad. “Dalits have been victims of continuous atrocities, with some even losing their lives on the streets,” she said. “Now, those who raise the Dalit card, why were they silent earlier?” Anitha asked, emphasizing that the law does not discriminate based on caste.
In a direct critique of the previous administration, Anitha said, “During their regime, 23 cases were filed against me. I ask, what is the caste of the real criminals?” Her speech highlighted the NDA government’s commitment to both development and justice, assuring the people that their welfare remains a top priority.
