Applications of 2,478flood victims under scrutiny

NTR district In-charge Collector Dr Nidhi Meena stated that the State government has credited compensation to the tune of Rs.235.72 crore to the bank accounts of 1.44 lakh flood victims. However, as many as 2,478 applications are under scrutiny. After completing the verification process, the compensation will be credited to their bank accounts by October 24. Flood victims need not worry as the district administration is taking all the necessary steps to pay the compensation, she added. Nidhi Meena, along with District Revenue Officer (DRO) V Srinivasa Rao, addressed the media at the Pingali Venkaiah meeting hall on the premises of the collectorate on Tuesday. She said that the State government has paid Rs.235.72 crore to 1,44,672 people who suffered losses as a result of heavy rains and Budameru flood.
Special teams uploaded the applications and the enumeration data of the victims in the PGRS Flood module under all 179 ward secretariats. Also, the victims’ list was published in these ward secretariats, she said. The compensation was credited to the bank accounts that were linked with Aadhaar.
