MP Putta Mahesh Kumar asked the district officials to implement welfare schemes efficiently and carry out development work on priority basis.
The District Development, Coordination & Monitoring Committee meeting was held here in which district Collector K Vetri Selvi, Joint Collector P Dhatri Reddy and MLAs participated.
The MP reviewed the implementation of various welfare schemes and carrying out o development programmes including the Mahatma Gandhi National Employment Guarantee Scheme, Swachh Bharat, Pradhan Mantri Sadak Yojana, Jal Jeevan Mission, National Health Mission, Education, Agriculture, PMEGP, Amrit, PM Vishwakarma Yojana, Pradhan Mantri Suraksha Yojana, National Highways, BSNL, Railways, Animal Husbandry Department, District Rural Development .
Speaking on the occasion, MP Putta Mahesh Kumar asked the district officials to keep the district at top in implementing welfare schemes of State and Centre. The implementation of welfare schemes and carrying out development works should be done as per the aspirations of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, he told them.
“The authorities should take more efficient measures to ensure that even the people at remote villages get the benefits of Central government schemes. The schemes implemented by the Central government should be monitored from time to time to ensure proper implementation,” the MP asserted.
The MP vented his anger at the absence of BSNL and railway department officials at the meeting and warned of serious consequences if the officials did not attend the next meeting.
MP Mahesh Kumar ordered the officials to initiate the establishment of food processing units in the district and give priority for agriculture, vocational training and employment for the youth. Swachh Bharat Mission and Jal Jeevan Mission programs should be implemented with full force, he told the officials and assured of extending his full cooperation to make the Eluru city as well as the nearby Dendulur constituency pleasant.
Voicing concern at the accumulating plastic waste, the MP emphasized that special action should be taken to plastic waste recycle management. “The youth are not willing to migrate to other areas seeking livelihood,” he opined and underlined the need of establishing industries in the district to churn out employment opportunities. The MP underlined the need of modernizing the Nuzvid railway station by augmenting passenger amenities.
Collector Vetri Selvi explained the development works being carried out and the implementation of welfare schemes in the district. Steps were taken to establish aqua processing units in the district, she revealed. MLA Chintamaneni Prabhakar, MLA Roshan Kumar also spoke.
