In Borancha in Narayanakhed constituency, foundation stone for a new lift irrigation scheme has been laid by Minister for Health and Family Welfare Damodar Raja Narsimha. This initiative aims to turn the Manur and Regode mandals into lush green farm.
With an investment of RS 430.50 lakh, two field gravity mains will be established as part of lift irrigation project. This will provide irrigation to approximately 2,900 acres in the Manur mandal, according to officials. Additionally, a gravity main will facilitate irrigation to around 500 acres in the Regode mandal. The projects are expected to be completed within six months, ensuring that local ponds are filled for agricultural use. Minister Damodara Rajanarsimha, along with MP Suresh Shetkar and MLA Sanjeev Reddy, laid the foundation stone for the field gravity mains. During the event, they also performed special pujas at the Borancha Nalla Pochamma temple.
The Minister emphasised that with sufficient water supply to local fields, farmers will have the opportunity to cultivate profitable crops. He noted that the project will significantly contribute to the economic development of the villages in the region and improve agricultural practices, ultimately increasing farmers’ incomes. Local farmers expressed optimism about the irrigation scheme, highlighting its potential to provide timely water for their crops, especially in drought-prone areas.
Officials and representatives from the Narayanakhed and Andole constituencies, including Revenue Divisional Officer Ashok Chakravarthy, DSP Venkat Reddy and several others were present.
