Minister for Housing and Information & Public Relations, K. Parthasarathy, laid the foundation stone for development projects worth Rs 20 crore at Chatrai village on Sunday.
The Minister inaugurated the construction of a road at Chatrai village at a cost of Rs 25 lakh and a CC road in Chanubanda village costing Rs 50 lakh. He also launched a road repair programme worth Rs 30 lakh.
Speaking at a public meeting in Chanubanda, Minister Parthasarathy announced that Rs 20 crore worth of development works have commenced in the Nuzvid constituency. He affirmed the government’s commitment to making state roads pothole-free, with a large-scale pothole-filling programme for R&B roads underway, totalling Rs 820 crore across Andhra Pradesh.
The Minister revealed that Rs 76 crore is allocated specifically for roadworks in the Eluru district, with a target to complete all repairs by Sankranti. He also recalled that Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has issued strict warnings to officials, stating that any road found with potholes after January would result in the suspension of the responsible officials.
Highlighting the government’s achievements, Parthasarathy noted the issuance of DSC notifications and the increase in pension from Rs 3,000 to Rs 4,000. He also mentioned the establishment of skill development centres to train unemployed youth and the launch of a free gas cylinder scheme from Deepavali.
