YSR Congress Vijayawada Central constituency coordinator and former MLA Malladi Vishnu has accused the government of targeting social media representatives of the party. Vishnu expressed concern over the various challenges faced by the people of the State since the coalition government assumed office five months ago.
The YSRC conducted a meeting of leaders and cadres with the party’s social media wing and assured social media activists about the party’s total support in fighting against false cases and attacks by Telugu Desam. Vishnu highlighted issues such as the rampant sand mafia, soaring electricity charges, and skyrocketing prices of essential goods. He further lamented the alarming increase in attacks and atrocities against women.
Vishnu remarked that the coalition government is fearful of the impact of YSRC’s social media outreach, which is effectively bringing these realities to the public’s attention. He cited recent unlawful cases filed against hundreds of social media activists in Guntur District, including farmer Alla Jagadishwara Reddy and a puncture shop owner, Ismail Mohammed, as evidence of this crackdown. Vishnu noted that six illegal cases had been registered within just one police station in the Central constituency.  “Do not lose hope; we stand with you,” he urged, assuring that the YSRC Legal Cell would always provide support to those facing government harassment. Vishnu said that any legal assistance required could be swiftly addressed by their central office.
