Rahasyam Idham Jagath is based on Sri Chakra: Komal R Bharadwaj

Must read

The Telugu film Rahasyam Idham Jagath is releasing on November 8. Directed by Komal R Bharadwaj, the film has been mostly shot in the USA. He is also introducing new talent with this film. The director talks about his film and what the inspiration behind it is. Having grown up in an artistic environment, he shared, “My parents are writers. It has come to me naturally. I also wanted to tell stories.”
He completed his masters in the USA and later joined a film school to learn filmmaking. “I made short films with US artists while I was in film school and also received many awards,” said Komal. This further gave him confidence that he could also make a feature film. “Then I started to write this Rahasyam Idham Jagath in 2020 and started shooting in 2021,” said the director.
“I wanted to come with an unconventional story rather than come up with a regular love story or a drama. In 1990 in Oregon, America, people dug for Sri Chakram and the place is near where I stayed. So I got curious and did my kind of research and started to write my story based on that incident,” said Komal. The news about Sri Chakram in America appeared in most of the media in the USA and even in India also. “I wanted to take that true incident and I took mythological inputs and added some cinematic liberty to narrate the story, which I think is completely new to the audience,” he said. That’s how he started the story and completed the film.
He also used the Wormhole concept for this film. “According to the science predictions, one can travel to another time period using this Wormhole concept, so I used this in my film,” he added. “Actually all these points are written in our puranas and I touched on all of them in my film, which I feel is interesting for the audience,” he said. Though these stories are good to hear, when it comes on the big screen, it should be interesting. “Yes, I narrated it in a simple way and one can see these when revealing the characters one after another,” he said.
Komal Bharadwaj left the software job and is now turning into direction, which he feels is a risk, but his passion about directing made it this way. “Many directors are now in the top position, but they all had taken a big risk at that time. I wanted to take a risk, because I believe in my story and my potential,” he said. He added that he showed the film to many people and they appreciated his efforts and the film.
Komal introduced many new artists with this film. “I wanted to go with newcomers because I feel that this kind of story needs new faces. Though they are new, they are proven actors and they have performed very well in my film,” he said. About his future plans, he said that he has some new kinds of stories. “This film is a learning experience for me and if there are any mistakes, I want to correct them for my next film,” said Komal.
