NTR District Police Commissioner S.V. Rajasekhar Babu inspected the arrangements at the Sri Durga Malleswara Swamy Varla Devasthanam atop Indrakeeladri in Vijayawada for the upcoming Bhavani Deeksha Relinquishment. The event is scheduled to take place from December 21 to December 25, with an estimated participation of over 5 lakh devotees.
The Durga Temple authorities are focusing on ensuring a safe and comfortable experience for all participants in this significant spiritual event. Special holding points are being set up to manage crowds effectively, and enhanced facilities are being provided at the tonsuring centres for devotees observing traditions. Engineering teams are working round the clock to complete infrastructure improvements.
During his visit, the Commissioner, along with Temple Executive Officer K.S. Rama Rao, visited key areas such as Seethammavari Padalu, the Tonsuring Centre, and various holding points designated for crowd management. Engineering officials briefed the team on the status of ongoing arrangements.
Speaking on the occasion, Commissioner Rajasekhar Babu emphasised the need for seamless coordination among various departments to ensure the event’s success. He stated, “Elaborate arrangements are being made to cater to the needs of the devotees, including safety, crowd management, and basic amenities.” Temple Executive Engineers K.V.S. Koteswara Rao and T. Vykunta Rao, along with other officials, accompanied the Commissioner during the inspection.
