SEIL Energy India Limited, one of India’s largest independent power producers (IPP), announced on Tuesday that it has received the prestigious UBS Forums’ ‘Best Social Welfare Initiative of the Year’ Award for its innovative health programme.
The recognition honours SEIL Energy’s impactful health initiatives, which have transformed the lives of thousands in rural communities. The award was presented at the 12th edition of the Corporate Social Responsibility Summit and Awards 2024 held in Bengaluru. Mr Albert David Peter, Head of CSR, SEIL Energy India Limited, accepted the award on behalf of the company.
Mr Raghav Trivedi, CEO of SEIL Energy India Limited, congratulated the CSR team for the achievement. He said, “We are deeply committed to empowering communities through initiatives that address their most pressing needs. Our health programmes aim to make a tangible difference in the lives of the unserved and underserved, and we are delighted to receive this recognition.”
SEIL Energy’s health initiatives have positively impacted over 5,000 households across eight panchayats and their hamlets in Muthukur and TP Gudur mandals.
The company’s comprehensive programmes include establishing two Health and Wellness Centres at MV Palem in Muthukur mandal and Salipeta in TP Gudur mandal, doorstep free medical check-ups and medicine distribution through a Mobile Medical Unit (MMU), distribution of hearing aids (audiometry devices), free eye check-ups and spectacles distribution, and providing medical equipment to government public health centres.
