Shruti Haasan out; Mrunal Thakur in for Dacoit

Must read

Adivi Sesh is having a tough time as the shoot for his film Dacoit started with Shruti Haasan and the team even released some promotional videos featuring her. However, it seems that the unit had some problems with Shruti Haasan, leading them to replace her with another actress, Mrunal Thakur.
The makers have now released new posters featuring Adivi Sesh and Mrunal Thakur for Dacoit. The actor is making this film a pan-India action drama. Directed by Shaneil Deo, who marks his directorial debut, this ambitious project is produced by Supriya Yarlagadda and co-produced by Suniel Narang. The film is being shot simultaneously in Hindi and Telugu and features a story and screenplay jointly crafted by Adivi Sesh and Shaneil Deo.
The film is currently being shot in Hyderabad, followed by an extensive schedule in Maharashtra. On his birthday on Tuesday, Adivi Sesh announced his new leading lady, welcoming Mrunal Thakur to the project. The stunning actress joins the film as the female lead.
According to a source from the unit, the team couldn’t handle Shruti Haasan’s attitude at some point, leaving them with no option but to replace her with another actress.
Dacoit tells the story of an angry convict seeking vengeance on his ex-girlfriend who betrayed him. He devises a dangerous plan to trap her, setting the stage for an intense action drama driven by elemental forces — love, betrayal, and revenge.
“It’s an action film with a touching love story. Mrunal has brought some of the finest characters to life on the big screen, bringing a unique panache to each role,” said Adivi Sesh. He added that they are thrilled to welcome Mrunal into this project.
“The story of Dacoit is true in its essence, a great mixture of rustic storytelling that is elevated with the stylised vision of both Adivi Sesh and Shaneil Deo. The character I’m set to depict in the film will allow me to explore shades of playing an on-screen character that I haven’t explored before as an actor,” said Mrunal about her role.
