Officials directed to take steps to prevent mishaps at Perupalem Beach

West Godavari District Collector Chadalavada Nagarani has instructed the concerned officials to take necessary steps to prevent drowning incidents involving tourists at Perupalem Beach.
The Collector, along with SP Adnan Nayeem Asmi, convened a meeting with officials to review the safety measures being implemented for visitors who come to the beach to take a holy dip during auspicious occasions.
Speaking at the meeting, Collector Nagarani emphasized the need for strict safety measures to protect bathers at the beach. She proposed the deployment of lifeguards, the use of patrol boats, installation of danger warning boards, and other precautionary measures to prevent drowning incidents.
Nagarani also highlighted the importance of providing fishermen with a subsidy of 40-60 percent on equipment developed by ISRO under the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana.
She explained that attaching transponder devices to fishing boats would help track their location during storms. She urged officials to raise awareness among fishermen regarding this initiative.
Antarvedi Marine PS Circle Inspector ANM Murthy presented proposals on the measures to be taken to prevent accidents, while Fisheries Department Assistant Director LLN Raju outlined schemes aimed at strengthening the fisheries sector.
The meeting was attended by SP Adnan Nayeem Asmi, Coastal Stretch Marine Additional SP GBR Madhusudana Rao, Antarvedi Marine PS Circle Inspector ANM Murthy, Fisheries Department AD LLN Raju, Kakinada Coast Guard SP Gupta, IB DCIO Sandeep Sudarshan, Marine SI Nagarjuna Rao, and others.
