Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja’s Dhamaka is going to hit the screens on December 23. Starring opposite the Disco Raja actor in the lead role is actress Sreeleela, who made her debut with Pelli SandaD, under the watchful guidance of veteran Raghavendra Rao BA.
Though the film didn’t turn out to be a superhit, Sreeleela continued to get several film offers.

Her upcoming flick Dhamaka, is going to mark her second film as a lead, where she’ll be playing the character of Pranavi who ends up in a threeway romantic mix. Even in terms of budget, it is by far her most expensive film.

Raised in Bangalore, the actress is a trained classical dancer. Since the age of three, her mother made sure that she religiously attended her dance classes at Arun Kalavidaru studio. It was during that time that she stumbled upon theatre, which later turned into obsession pushing her to pursue a career in acting. Within no time, working hard in order to achieve excellence has become second nature to the thespian. Sreeleela carved an interesting path for herself in Sandalwood as well. She starred in films like Kiss, Bharaate, and By Two Love, all of which were commercial hits.

In a recent press meet , the actress said that she agreed to be a part of the film within ten minutes of the director narrating the script. When The Pioneer asked her what exactly stirred up her excitement, she remarked, “It is the entertainment that pulled me into the narration. I’ve grown up watching and liking films that were high on entertainment. Dhamaka is a film that’ll make you laugh and I love comedy. When the director was narrating the script, I just couldn’t say no to such a good script. Of course, working with Ravi Teja garu was fun. Considering how experienced he is, I was always careful about how I behaved, but he was kind enough to make me feel comfortable on the sets.”

A little known fact about the promising young actress is that she’s currently pursuing her MBBS! Imagine juggling between shoots and exams. Surprisingly, Sreeleela loves studying like how people like playing sports, for instance. Interestingly, when questioned about her acting process, she told us how managing between college and films makes her a better performer, “I can switch on and off between takes easily. I know how to behave aptly in a specific situation. This profession demands a lot of attention, and I am still pursuing MBBS. When I attend college, people don’t give me that special treatment and that keeps me grounded. I like the balance that I’ve been able to bring to my work and education. That balance in real life, perhaps helps me on-screen as well.”

We hear celebrities talking about incidents which they can never afford to forget from the sets of their favourite projects. Recalling one such incident, the bubbly actress said,“We were shooting for Jinthaak song in Spain and my costumes got misplaced for some weird reason. For around two to three hours, the director, DOP, costume designer and other crew members made it their goal to get me the right costumes. They literally visited different stores to get me the right costumes. It was such a cute moment and now it’s etched in my memory. They all made me feel so comfortable and treated me like their own.”

The Dhamaka star has signed up for eight Telugu films for 2023, among which there is the tentatively titled BoyapatiRapo, Panja Vaishnav Tej’s fourth film, and Anil Ravipudi-Balakrishna’s project, considered to be the most anticipated films in her current line up.
