Chief Minister Revanth Reddy participated in the Christmas celebrations held at the historic Medak Cathedral Church on Wednesday, marking its centenary in a grand manner. Extending warm greetings to the Christian community, the Chief Minister expressed joy in celebrating the occasion alongside the devout.
Addressing the gathering, Revanth Reddy highlighted the significance of the Medak Cathedral, which has completed 100 years and is recognized as a renowned holy site. “The government has released adequate funds for the development of this iconic Church. My association with this sacred place is long-standing. I visited here as TPCC President, sought blessings, and vowed to return as the Chief Minister. Fulfilling that promise today is a moment of immense happiness,” he shared.
Revanth Reddy emphasized the Congress government’s commitment to uplifting marginalized communities. “Dalit and tribal Christians are among the largest beneficiaries of the Indiramma housing scheme and the 200 units of free power supply initiative,” he stated.
Acknowledging the role of Christian missionaries in advancing education and healthcare, the Chief Minister noted, “Inspired by their service, the Congress government introduced transformative schemes like fee reimbursement and Rajiv Arogyasri. These initiatives continue to benefit the most disadvantaged sections of society.” Reiterating the state’s focus on Medak’s development, he assured that the government is actively working to enhance the district’s infrastructure and welfare. The event witnessed a large turnout, with the Chief Minister celebrating both Christmas and the Church’s centenary alongside the faithful.
