Woman thief arrested,Rs 12.50 L. booty recovered

The police arrested a woman thief at RTC depot in Kanigiri town on Wednesday and recovered Rs 12,50,000 worth gold jewellery from her.
Informing this to the media here on Wednesday, Superintendent of police AR Damodhar said that the police woman thief Vemula Akhila.
The accused Akhila and Bathula Venkata Ramana are relatives and she used to visit Venkata Ramana’s house frequently. Then, Akhila noticed the place where Venkata Ramana kept valuables, cash and gold jewellery. She also observed the place where he used to place keys of the iron safe in the house.
She developed a passion for gold jewelry and decided to commit stealing them. On the morning of November 4, 2023, when the complainant’s family members were not at home, the accused went to the house and intruded into the house by opening the iron safe doors and decamping with the gold jewellery and other valuables.
The police arrested the woman thief and recovered gold jewellery including chains, rings, bracelet, necklace worth Rs 12,50,00. Special teams were formed led by additional SP K Nageswara Rao and DSP M Maheswara Rao and the team arrested the accused when she was going to sell the gold jewellery at the RTC depot in Kanigiri town.
SP Damodhar appreciated CI Sk. Khajavali, SIs T Sriram, K Mdhava Rao and other police personnel for cracking the major heist and recovering the booty.
