Vijayawada West MLA Yalamanchili Satyanarayana Chowdary, also known as Sujana Chowdary, inaugurated a reservoir with a storage capacity of 1,500 kilolitres near the Lorry Stand in the 40th Division of the Vijayawada Municipal Corporation (VMC) on Wednesday. The reservoir was built using Rs. 3.30 crore from the 15th Finance Commission.
During the inauguration, MLA Sujana Chowdary expressed his commitment to providing adequate drinking water facilities to every household in the West Assembly constituency. He highlighted that this second reservoir was constructed to address drinking water scarcity in the area. These reservoirs will supply potable water to more than 20,000 residents in the VMC’s 39th, 40th, and 42nd divisions.
Furthermore, he stated his intention to secure additional funding from both the State and Central governments to ensure a sufficient drinking water supply. He assured that no one in his constituency would face drinking water issues in the future.
VMC Corporators Anjaneya Reddy, G. Narendra, Irfan, Marupilla Rajesh, Arshad, EE Venkateswara Reddy, DEE Karunakar Babu, AEE Ramakrishna, and others were also present at the event.
