The bodies of Sub-inspector Saikumar, woman constable Shruti and computer operator Nikhil were found after a painstaking underwater search at a lake
Three bodies, including that of a woman police constable and a sub-inspector, were found under mysterious circumstances in a lake in Kamareddy district on Thursday.
The police launched a search operation after learning that the three individuals had been missing since late Wednesday afternoon.
Based on mobile phone location data, they discovered the bodies of the woman constable and a computer operator in a lake in Sadashivnagar mandal during the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday.
The body of the sub-inspector of Bhiknoor police station was subsequently found in the lake on Thursday morning, according to Kamareddy District Superintendent of Police Sindhu Sharma told the media.
The deceased were identified as Saikumar, constable Shruti (33) and Nikhil (29).
Mystery shrouds the death of the police personnel and the computer operator who was the outsourced employee in the lake. The bodies of constable Shruti and computer operator Nikhil were retrieved from the lake at midnight on Wednesday. Later, on Thursday morning the body of the sub-inspector Saikumar was found after a painstaking underwater search.
The sub-inspector, along with Shruti and Nikhil, had been missing since Wednesday. Their belongings were found near the Addluru Yellareddy Pedda Lake under Sadashivnagar mandal, prompting the police to launch a search.
According to police, the mobile phone of Shruti stopped working. Based on mobile phone location data, the phone was found at Addlurr Ellareddy Pedda Lake in Sadashivnagar mandal.
The police rushed to the lake on Wednesday night. They were shocked to find the sub-inspector’s car, slippers, and the constable’s phone. It is suspected that Nikhil, who works as a computer operator at the Bibi Peta Society, also committed suicide. Currently, the deaths of sub-inspector Saikumar, constable Shruti, and Nikhil came as a shock.
District Superintendent of Police Sindhu Sharma reached the lake to gather details. Police teams from Sadashivnagar, Bhikanur were deployed.
The woman constable, Shruti, hailed from Gandhari mandal. She had been working as a constable for 10 years. Her family consists of her parents, a sister, and a brother. According to her brother Nataraj, Shruti was very brave and there was no way she could have committed suicide. She had been living alone since then.
Only investigation can shed light on the relationship between the sub-inspector, Sai Kumar, and the constable, Shruti, and what led to them committing suicide. It is also yet to be known why the computer operator Nikhil joined the duo in allegedly committing suicide.
