State Minister for BC, EWS, Handlooms, and Textiles, S Savitha, stated that the primary goal of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu is to uplift the Rajaka community. Savithri, the Chairperson of the Rajakula Corporation, met with the Minister at the Secretariat in Velagapudi on Thursday. During the meeting, Savithri submitted a memorandum requesting the resolution of several issues impacting the community.
Minister Savitha emphasized that only under the TDP government has the Rajaka community received significant benefits. She highlighted that CM Chandrababu Naidu has introduced numerous schemes aimed at the community’s welfare. Between 1994-2004 and 2014-2019, various initiatives were launched to promote the welfare of the Rajaka community, including the provision of essential tools and equipment through the Self-Employment Assistance Scheme. Societies were set up, and subsidised loans were provided. Moreover, the construction of dhobi ghats (traditional wash areas) and the provision of free electricity up to 150 units were among the many benefits offered during these periods.
Minister Savitha also criticised the previous government led by YS Jagan Mohan Reddy, claiming that it neglected the Rajaka community, as it did with other castes. She accused the Jagan government of discontinuing the welfare schemes initiated by the TDP and replacing them with the “Jagananna Chedodu” scheme, which provides only Rs 10,000 per year, offering minimal support to the community.
Minister Savitha affirmed that under CM Chandrababu Naidu’s leadership, the Rajaka community is now set to experience better days. She instructed Savithri, the Corporation Chairperson, to effectively communicate the government’s schemes to the people. In response, Savithri expressed her gratitude to CM Chandrababu Naidu for the opportunity to serve as Chairperson and thanked Minister Savitha for her continued support.
