Take sympathetic look at  farmers: Gudur urges CM

Must read

Bharatiya Janata Party state senior leader Gudur Narayana Reddy on Friday urged Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy to look into the alignment of Regional Ring Road on the Southeast side and protect the farmers from losing their lands for the sixth time.
In a media statement, he said that farmers who have lands in the new alignment would be forced to lose their lands for the sixth time if the same alignment is finalized.
“Therefore there is every need for the government to take a relook at the present alignment. It must change the alignment to the old one so that the farmers need not lose their lands,” he said.
Narayana Reddy said that when the RRR was planned it has been proposed to construct the road along Choutuppal, Motakondur, Alair, other side of the Yadadri and Gajwel. However, the BRS leaders have brought pressure on the government and have seen that the alignment is changed to Choutuppal, Valigonda, Bhuvanagiri, and Gajwel.
He said that the farmers of Bhongir mandal have given their lands to the government for five times for development activities. They have given lands for construction of High Tension power line, NH No 163, two bypass roads at Bhuvanagiri, and Yadadri Temple Development Authority activities. They were forced to cede their land for the sixth time.
The BJP leader said that the areas coming under new alignment have been well connected already for the logistic and commuting purposes. Construction of RRR with that alignment would not serve any purpose.
He said that former Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao with hardheadedness has approved the new alignment just to favour his party men. The new alignment has been proposed without any sense and practical knowledge.
He explained that the old alignment was meant to provide connectivity to the rural areas in the Southeast side. It was proposed to improve the economic prosperity of those areas.
He said that when the RRR was envisaged it has been felt that its alignment should be kept 35 to 40 kms away from the Outer Ring Road. This would benefit the areas falling between ORR and RRR. With the change of old alignment to new one this purpose would be defeated.
He has urged the Chief Minister to take a sympathetic look at the travails of the farmers and take steps to change the present alignment to the old one.
