Must read

Minister for Tourism Development, Kandula Durgesh, has pledged to develop the Kadiyam area as a prominent tourist destination. The Minister, accompanied by MLA Gorantla Butcchaiah Chowdary, laid the foundation stone for the construction of a road at Kadiyapulanka village in Kadiyam mandal, with an investment of Rs 1.85 crore on Saturday.
Addressing the gathering, Durgesh reiterated that the coalition government is committed to the State’s overall development. He praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu, and Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan for their leadership in advancing the State’s progress, with a focus on public welfare.
“Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan has committed to the development of rural areas and the provision of basic amenities to all villages. Efforts are underway to release funds to each village panchayat, and roads connecting villages are being reconstructed,” the Minister stated.
Durgesh also criticised the previous YSRCP government for neglecting the development of roads, highlighting the coalition government’s efforts to reconstruct and develop roads that had fallen into disrepair. He mentioned that the Tourism department had allocated funds for the development of the Kadiyapulanka road. “The roads in the State were in a deplorable condition due to the previous government’s failure to allocate funds. Some roads had become unusable for motorists. Understanding the crucial role of roads in the State’s development, the coalition government has prioritised their reconstruction,” Durgesh added.
Rajahmundry Rural MLA Gorantla Butcchaiah Chowdary noted that development works were underway in various parts of the district, including the reconstruction of Yetigattu road, which connects to the national highway, at a cost of Rs 1.85 crore. He also mentioned that the Dosalamma road had already been reconstructed and that many projects had been completed within the stipulated time.
Despite financial constraints, the government continues to implement schemes such as fee reimbursement, Talliki Vandanam, and Rythu Bandhu as promised, he said. Chowdary commended Tourism Minister Kandula Durgesh for his efforts in promoting Kadiyam as a tourist hub. MPDO K. Ramesh, Panchayat Raj DE A. Ravi, and leaders from TDP, JSP, and BJP also attended the event.
