The Adivasi Sammelana Sabha (Tribal Meeting) will be held in Vijayawada on January 19, 2025, announced Mallikarjuna Nayak, National Vice President of Girijana Praja Samakya (GPS), and Raju Nayak, State President. The announcement was made at a press conference on Saturday at the Vijayawada Press Club, with State ST Commission member Vaditya Shankar Nayak as the chief guest. During the event, Shankar Nayak unveiled the posters for the upcoming meeting.
Addressing the media, the leaders encouraged the tribal community to actively participate in the event, which will take place at the Tummalapalli Kalakshetram in Vijayawada. They emphasized that the gathering would be an important step towards empowering the tribal people and improving their living standards.
Former Vice President of India, M Venkaiah Naidu, will be the chief guest at the event. Other distinguished guests include Hussain Nayak, National Member of the ST Commission, Dr DVG Shankar Rao, Chairman of the Andhra Pradesh State ST Commission, IG of Kerala Lakshman Nayak, former MP Sitaram Nayak, and several other prominent leaders.
The event will feature cultural programmes highlighting tribal traditions and art forms, presented by tribal cultural troupes, adding significance to the occasion. The event aims to foster unity, pride, and progress for the tribal community, enhance their socio-economic status, and promote their dignity in Andhra Pradesh. The leaders appealed to the tribal people to attend and make the meeting a grand success.
