The Union Minister of State for Home Affairs, Bandi Sanjay Kumar said, “Despite being able-bodied, we face many problems in society. The struggles of differently-abled individuals are beyond description. But their mental strength and courage are extraordinary. What we must do is stand by them. They are individuals of integrity and honesty.”
During the distribution of assistive devices for the differently-abled, held today at the Sircilla District Collectorate, Union Minister Sanjay participated along with Government Whip Aadi Srinivas, Manakondur MLA Kavvampalli Satyanarayana, Collector Sandeep Kumar Jha, Library Corporation Chairman Nagula Satyanarayana, the local municipal chairman, and market committee chairman, among others.
“Under the Central Government’s ADIP (Assistance to Disabled Persons) and Rashtriya Vayoshri Yojana (RVY) schemes, assistive devices worth INR 69,54,911 are being distributed to 322 differently-abled individuals today, including 87 battery-operated tricycles, 85 regular tricycles, 126 BTE hearing aids, 80 wheelchairs, 127 walking sticks, CP chairs, special kits, and other devices,” Sanjay said.
He said, “I still remember distributing assistive devices worth INR 2.33 crore to 1,930 differently-abled individuals in this district two years ago. Similarly, a large camp was held in Karimnagar last year, distributing devices worth crores to over 750 people.”
Sanjay said that in just four years, over INR 100 crore has been spent on the welfare of differently-abled individuals, women, and the elderly in my parliamentary constituency. The Central Government is allocating substantial funds for welfare homes operated for differently-abled individuals and senior citizens.
He said that his goal is to provide assistive devices to every eligible differently-abled individual in his parliamentary constituency and support them in every way.
Prepare a list of those who have not yet received devices so that arrangements can also be made. No differently-abled person in this district should say they were left out.
The Union Minister of State said, “Soon, a Navodaya school will be sanctioned for Sircilla district. Proposals have been sent to the central government, and approval will be granted shortly. Similarly, we will include Vemulawada Rajanna Temple under the ‘Pilgrimage Rejuvenation and Spiritual Heritage Augmentation Drive’ (PRASHAD) scheme.”
