Director Puri Jagannath’s younger brother Sai Ram Shankar is back with a film after a gap. The actor made his debut with the film ‘143’ in 2004. Though he acted in a few films till now, he has not been successful as an actor. He is taking long gaps between his films and now, he is coming up with a film titled ‘Oka Pathakam Prakaram’. He is playing a lawyer in this film directed by national award-winning director Vinod Vijayan. Interestingly, the director made half a dozen Malayalam films till now and also won a national award for his film ‘Ottal’. He directed the Telugu film ‘Oka Pathakam Prakaram’ with Sai Ram as the lead.
“I have known Vinod Vijayan since 2005 and we continue our friendship. When he narrated this film story to me, I felt that universe sent him to me,” said Sai Ram. He added that he liked the project and completed it. “I play Siddharth Neelakanta, public prosecutor and criminal lawyer in this film,” said the actor. “My character revolves around the story. It is very intense and one can’t predict whether I am a criminal, and the relation to me with the crime that happened in the story is unpredictable,” said the actor.
The actor said that after three days of shooting, director Vijayan called his friend from the National School of Drama to train him for a month. “That tells how intense my role in the film is. Maybe I have been waiting for this film all these days and I am sure that this film will definitely fill the gap,” said Sai Ram. He added that the technicians who worked for this film are winners of national awards. “I am blessed for working with them for this film,” said the actor.
Sai Ram said his friend and director Vijayan won the national award for his film ‘Ottal’. “It also won many international awards. Because of Vijayan, many top technicians worked for this Telugu film. ‘Oka Pathakam Prakaram’ is releasing on February 7.
“I don’t think that in recent times a suspense thriller like this one came out. That’s why we are also putting a contest for it. If anyone predicts the villain after the first half, we are going to give him/her a prize money of Rs 10,000,” said the actor. He said that the team has confidence in the film, so they are putting on this contest. “In 50 theatres, they will give a coupon and once the first half is completed, the viewers should write the villain’s name and once the movie is over, whoever writes the correct name will get the money,” said Sai Ram about the contest. He praised the director for his screenplay and the story. “I am sure this film gives me the much needed break and I will be back with regular films without any gap,” said Sai Ram.
