Congress endangering Hyd’s livability: KTR

Must read

BRS Working President KT Rama Rao expressed deep concern over the deteriorating condition of Hyderabad under Congress rule.
Addressing a meeting of MLAs and MLCs at the residence of former minister Talasani Srinivas Yadav, he pointed out that the city, once a symbol of development, is now grappling with multiple problems due to administrative failures. KTR emphasized that Hyderabad, being Telangana’s economic engine, cannot afford to lose its edge.
“The city’s global rankings as a livable and lovable city are now at risk. The Congress’s failures are affecting not only Hyderabad but the entire state,” he said.
He highlighted the city’s decline over the past year stating, “Under Chief Minister K. Chandrasekhar Rao, Hyderabad was a beacon of happiness. Today, it has become synonymous with challenges due to the Revanth Government’s inefficiency.”
During the meeting, elected representatives from Hyderabad brought up pressing issues like worsening sanitation, irregular drinking water supply, frequent power outages and increasing traffic problems.
KTR was briefed about water tankers already being deployed in several areas despite summer being months away. Legislators also raised concerns about the city’s shifting reputation from a safe hub to a crime zone, coupled with increasing land grabs and a weakening law-and-order situation.

Focus on development and legacy

KTR recalled the programmes launched during BRS’s tenure like the Metro Rail, IT growth, and the construction of world-class infrastructure.

“We turned Hyderabad into a global city. From building extensive flyovers to linking roads, our projects not only saved time but also earned the confidence of Hyderabad’s residents,” he said.

In stark contrast, he criticised the Congress government for failing to maintain these developments. “Even basic road repairs are ignored, leading to accidents and traffic woes. Sanitation, which we revolutionized with the Swachh Autos initiative, has now become a nightmare,” KTR said.

He also criticized the government’s failure to fulfil election promises. “Not a single ration card or pension was issued last year. The poor are left waiting endlessly,” he said, adding that BRS leaders would continue to fight until Congress delivered on its promises.

KTR asked BRS legislators to relentlessly question the government until the issues faced by Hyderabad’s residents are resolved. “The Congress government will face people’s wrath for ignoring the development of Hyderabad,” he said.
