Speaker Chintakayala Ayyanna Patrudu and Deputy Speaker K Raghu Rama Krishna Raju, accompanied by their spouses, visited the renowned Bodh Gaya in Bihar. They toured the world-famous Mahabodhi Temple premises and experienced a divine spiritual journey.
The Mahabodhi Temple holds immense significance in Buddhist history, being the sacred site where Lord Buddha meditated under the Bodhi tree and attained enlightenment. The Bodhi tree symbolises the origin of Buddhism and is revered globally. This temple has been recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
At the Bodhi tree, Speaker Ayyanna Patrudu performed special prayers and embraced the spiritual serenity that brings peace and joy. Speaking on the occasion, he said, “Places like the Mahabodhi Temple showcase India’s spiritual heritage to the world. The atmosphere here provides immense tranquility to the mind.”
He spent a few moments meditating under the Bodhi tree, experiencing the peacefulness and reflecting on spiritual values. He also explored the significance of the Mahabodhi Temple and engaged in spiritual contemplation.
The Secretary General, AP Legislature, Suryadevara Prasanna Kumar, also accompanied the dignitaries on the visit.
