MP Kesineni Sivanath (Chinni) reiterated his commitment to improving government schools in the district by enhancing infrastructure and facilities. Speaking at an event celebrating the birthday of Minister Nara Lokesh, he stressed the importance of students excelling not only in academics but also in sports. On Thursday, he launched the distribution of 145 sports kits to government schools, funded personally, at Gandhi Municipal High School.
In his address, MP Sivanath noted that many sports grounds in government schools had been neglected by the previous government, leading to a lack of sports opportunities for students. However, he mentioned that he had worked to develop sports grounds and establish long jump pits in 145 schools across the district to provide students with better opportunities for sporting excellence.
Praising Minister Nara Lokesh as one of his favourite leaders, Sivanath commended his efforts to bring reforms to the education system, including the organisation of large parent-teacher meetings and the introduction of the midday meal scheme for college students. Encouraging students to remain determined in their studies and not be discouraged by setbacks in exams, the MP urged them to stay humble and focused on their goals. He also expressed his intention to bring Minister Nara Lokesh to visit the 110-year-old Gandhi Municipal High School and called on alumni to contribute to the development of government schools.
Furthermore, Sivanath pledged to raise funds for further school development through CSR initiatives, ensuring that the burden did not fall on the government.
The MP also praised Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu’s vision for a “Swarna Andhra Pradesh” by 2047 and lauded Minister Nara Lokesh’s efforts to create 20 lakh job opportunities in the state.
District Education Officer Subbarao thanked MP Sivanath for his contribution to the development of sports grounds and distribution of sports kits, which, he said, would inspire students to excel in both academics and sports.
